The Lord had already given me a lot during our trip to the Pingxi Lantern Festival. Good team time, amazing interactions, powerful prayers, and beautiful scenery were just some of the blessings already poured out on us that day. However, as I was walking back from my conversation with the lady at the donut stand, I came upon my team in conversation with another woman and her daughter.

As I listened in, I discovered early on in the conversation that she was a believer and was in deep conversation with my teammate, Molly, about what the Lord is doing in Taiwan. As they were talking, she pulled out a few pieces of paper. She had gotten tickets to be a part of the first lantern release in the festival that night! We had already released a lantern that day and we were content to watch the big release that night, but Papa had other plans.

She had gotten enough tickets for 12 people to go with her, even though she came with just her daughter. Okay, I see you Holy Spirit.

And on top of that?! Remember that other mom and daughter that we prayed over in my last blog? We found them again and they were invited to join us as well! So many blessings!

We walked with the crowds to the release area. Our group was divided into three and each group was given a lantern to write on. As we were writing scripture references and prayers on our lanterns, a camera crew came by and zoomed in on all of our writing, displaying it on the large screens for all of the audience to see!

How amazing is that?! The Lord is so cool.

Many of the people that passed by us and walked passed our prayer signs earlier that day got to visually see prayers written out for them and for the area. I love how the Lord works.

We released our lanterns into the sky, in awe of the light that was overcoming the darkness of the evening.

We celebrated, watched another release from afar, said our goodbyes, and crammed into a crowded train car to go home, overwhelmed by the goodness the Lord had shown us that day.

It’s amazing how the Lord moves when you create the space for him to do so. It’s incredible the encounters He will give you when you are interruptible. It’s inspiring that the God of the universe would have us in Taiwan during such a time as this. We went out with the intention of wanting to bless others, and we were immensely blessed in return. And to think, this entire day all started with a cardboard sign and the side of a road.

I thank Jesus for this day and every day He has given me. These past two years, the Lord has revealed more and more of himself in the day by day. In the adventure, in the mundane, in the clean and in the dirty, in the good and in the bad. He is present in all of it. And He wants us to notice Him and walk with Him.

And I’ve learned all of this through your gifts and through your prayers and support. Thank you for your support, and continue to pray for myself and for my squad as we continue. I am still in need of about $10,000 to continue on for the remaining nine months, please consider partnering with me to see this through to completion. I love you all so much!

Joyfully His,

Meghan
